Mission and Outreach

We support a number of local, national and international charities and projects via our coffee collections and special events. Find below updates on some of the charities we support.

The Lord’s Larder Food Bank is a local ‘bank’ of non-perishable in life ambient food operated by volunteers from churches in and around Yeovil. A collection box is located at our church for donations.

All We Can is an international development and relief organisation, working to see every person’s potential fulfilled. Focussed on serving the world’s most marginalised communities and is rooted in the Christian faith. All We Can works through partnership alongside our global neighbours most impacted by disasters, poverty and injustice to enable flourishing and resilient communities.

We support All We Can through our harvest appeal.

Shoebox Appeal Over the years, Crewkerne Methodist Church has been involved with collecting for the shoe box appeal.

Filled with small, practical items such as toiletries, stationery, and clothing, the individually-wrapped boxes have been distributed by Blythswood Care in schools, hospitals, orphanages and care homes, and to households in very low income communities. Many have gone to people affected by the war in Ukraine. Collection of the boxes will be on the 5th November.

Action for Children protects and supports children and young people. They do this by providing practical and emotional care and support, making sure their voices are hear campaigning to bring lasting improvements to their lives.
Our main form of fundraising is through church members who have boxes which are emptied in the spring or make online donations. Please let a steward know if you would like to take a box home.

We also fund-raise through our monthly coffee collections for other charities such as those below:

Christian Aid works to eradicate poverty by tackling its root causes

For over 75 years, Christian Aid has stood together in solidarity with our most marginalised global neighbours, of all faiths and none.

Poverty is an outrage against humanity. It robs people of their dignity and lets injustice thrive.

The Leprosy Mission is a global Christian organisation leading the fight against leprosy. Following Jesus Christ, they seek to bring about transformation; breaking the chains of leprosy and empowering people to attain healing, dignity and life in all its fullness.
